To Harry

Dear Harry:

I cannot commit to you if you continue to hide, like the Klingons, behind a cloaking device. You allude to a possible connection we may have had years ago — or perhaps not. Choose to read my blog or not, that’s up to you; write comments if you want — I can’t protect myself from that;  or play Edmund Dantes, the Count of Monte Cristo with me. In any case I have no patience for anonymity. The door is opened to you.

I sincerely apologize to you, Matt, for I knew that you would likely take umbrage with my apparent foolish manner. That, however, was infinitely furthest from my intentions. The truth is that upon recently reading about your seemingly endless tragic travails, words to express both my deep rooted sympathy/empathy as well as my compassion for you have eluded my grasp, leaving my own feelings for being an adequate wordsmith feeble and deserted. Allow me nonetheless to commend YOU on the Enormity of your strength and tenacity to continuously rebound. FYI, I have always admired that in you, despite the seething similarities between us that regretfully did more to design our differences. I would also like to add that I feel that Jane has become one of your greatest friends and a precious companion. Of course, you already know that too. Very truly yours, SL from Holocaust H.S., 1972-1974.
